About this coffee

Burka Coffee Estates Ltd. is an organisation that owns three neighbour farms (Burka Estates, Selian Estate and Mondul Estate) in Arusha District. On all three Estates they produce shade-grown, fine washed sun dried Arabica Coffee. Burka and Selian Estates are on the slopes of Mount Meru, whereas Mondul Estate is located 25km away from Burka, on the slopes of the Mondul Mountain.
Burka Coffee Estates Ltd. is one of the largest coffee estates in Tanzania. Burka employs over 200 permanent employees and 300 specific task employees. During the harvest season, the employment rate reaches 1000 to 2000 people depending on the size of the crop. Burka Coffee Estates runs and operates two independent wet mills, giving them full control of the coffee processing.

Full sweet daily driver

Though you might think of a washed coffee from Africa as a coffee that's stereotypically sweet and fruity, this peaberry Burka has a big body full of comforting notes.
Expect a creamy & sweet body consisting of chocolate and caramel with a hint of stonefruits to back it up.
